Anton VonDost was raised by his tribe. The nomadic longtooth shifters of the Luna tribe traveled much of Nerath, foraging and hunting while dealing with frequent monster attacks. He never knew his parents, though he might very well have met them; the shifters of the Luna tribe raise their young as a whole, not by paired parents. Anton was never told which members of his tribe were his birth parents, and never really cared to learn. When Anton came of age, the shamans took great interest in his abilities and taught him the initiate ways of the druid, allowing him to shape shift to wolf form. This skill earned Anton the nickname "Voodoo" among his peers.
Voodoo learned the ways of the ranger, defending his tribe and hunting in the ruins of Nerath. One evening his tribe became the hunted, as a large green form descended from the sky to rain poison on his kinsmen. Early on in the onslaught, Voodoo was pinned by debris and began loosing blood. When death seemed imminent, he called upon his peoples' innate ability to unleash the power of their lycanthrope ancestors. But by the time he had escaped the debris and regenerated adequate vitality, his tribe had already been slaughtered. Swearing an oath to destroy the dragon and his minions, Voodoo stalked into the wilds of Nerath to find his destiny.
Voodoo has very dark skin, even for a shifter, that is covered in elaborate tattoos. Even his face hosts some of this artwork. His hair is dark brown and dreadlocked in a haphazard manner. His dark yellow eyes seem to reflect light and glow at night. He has the characteristic features of a longtooth shifter; canine-like face, long claw-like finger and toe nails, and ample body hair. Voodoo wears the armor and carries the totem of his tribe's deceased head shaman. He never removes the thick hide armor, even when sleeping. But he never wears boots or foot coverings of any kind. His scimitars are his constant companions and he grips the hilts constantly, out of habit. When Voodoo moves its often animalistic, going from two legs to all fours and back, fluidly. When angry, his wolf-like nature is enhanced; he growls like a mad dog bearing his fangs and raising the hackles of his enchanted armor. When bloodied, its even more pronounced; his facial features actually shift to a human-wolf hybrid appearance, much like a werewolf, and his muscles seem to increase in mass. In his druid wild shape form, Voodoo appears as a massive jet black wolf-creature with yellow eyes.
